REMOTE UNDERWATER INSPECTION

Investigate Underwater Threats From a Safe Standoff.

FISHER is a modular USV payload that deploys the VideoRay Defender remotely operated vehicle for close-range investigation of underwater contacts, hazards, and subsea infrastructure.

By carrying the inspection capability to the contact, FISHER allows operators to gather detailed visual and sensor information without placing personnel or crewed vessels directly over the threat.

ROV technology provided by VideoRay.

HOW IT WORKS

Bring Close-Range Inspection to the Contact.

FISHER extends a USV’s reach below the surface by deploying the VideoRay Defender ROV near underwater contacts and hazards. Operators can investigate the area remotely while remaining outside the immediate threat environment.

01

Deploy

Send USV into the operating area and deploy the Defender ROV near the underwater contact or location requiring investigation.

02

Investigate

Maneuver the ROV around the contact to gather close-range visual and sensor information from multiple perspectives.

03

Assess

Provide operators with detailed information to support contact assessment, mission planning, and the appropriate follow-on response.

STANDOFF UNDERWATER INVESTIGATION

Move the Operator Back. Move the Sensor Forward.

Underwater contacts often require close inspection before the next action can be determined.

Sonar can identify a contact of interest, but operators may still need close-range imagery and sensor data to better understand what is below the surface. Reaching that contact should not require personnel or a crewed vessel to operate directly over a potential hazard.

Carry the inspection capability to the contact.

FISHER deploys the VideoRay Defender ROV from USV, allowing operators to investigate underwater contacts from a safe standoff. The ROV can maneuver close to the object and provide the visual and sensor information needed to support assessment and follow-on action.

Close inspection of the contact without close exposure to the threat.

CLOSE-RANGE UNDERWATER INSPECTION

Built for Close Inspection Without Close Exposure.

FISHER combines BlackSea USV’s expeditionary reach with the close-range inspection capability of the VideoRay Defender ROV. Operators can deploy the system near an underwater contact, maneuver the ROV into position, and collect detailed information while remaining outside the immediate hazard area.

01

ROV Deployment

Transport and deploy the Defender ROV from BlackSea USV near the underwater contact or area of interest.

02

Close-Range Investigation

Maneuver cameras and sensors close to the contact to support a more detailed assessment.

03

Remote Operation

Maintain operator control of the investigation while personnel remain separated from the potential threat.

04

Modular Integration

Add underwater inspection capability to BlackSea USV through its interchangeable payload architecture.
