BlackSea’s sUSV Training Program prepares operators for uncrewed surface vessel missions with a focus on safety, certification, and real-world performance. Aligned with the AUVSI Trusted UMS Operator framework, the program combines classroom instruction, simulation, and on-water training to build critical skills for both routine and complex operations. Operators progress through certification levels covering vessel control, navigation, communications, autonomy integration, and emergency procedures. Certification Pathway

BlackSea’s training program supports formal certification through the AUVSI Trusted UMS Operator program. This tiered system is designed to recognize operator proficiency based on mission complexity and platform type. Certification is awarded following written exams and practical evaluations.

  • Operators learn basic vessel control, launch and recovery, remote navigation, and emergency procedures. This is the entry point for most operators and includes both a knowledge test and a practical assessment.

  • This certification includes radar, AIS, and camera-based navigation, BVLOS risk management, towing and recovery, and coordination with crewed traffic. Operators are evaluated through scenario-based planning and mission execution.
