AEVEX Corp. (NYSE: AVEX), a leading U.S. defense technology company specializing in autonomous systems, AI‑enabled mission software, and advanced ISR and electronic warfare solutions, today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire BlackSea Technologies, one of the largest providers of unmanned surface and subsea vessels in the U.S. defense market. 

BlackSea Technologies announced Mythos AI as the first autonomy partner for Mainstay, its modular mission software architecture. The integration enables proven autonomous navigation, perception, and multi‑vessel command‑and‑control capabilities across BlackSea’s family of unmanned vessels, giving operators greater choice and faster deployment of new technologies.

Jet Logistics is expanding into the cargo sector through a new partnership with Blue Tide Aviation, a Fort Lauderdale‑based operator that serves as a subcontractor and mission partner to BlackSea Technologies on maritime and logistics programs. The launch includes deploying Blue Tide’s C‑23 Sherpa to service Florida, the Bahamas, and the wider Caribbean, offering faster and more flexible air cargo solutions across remote islands. Jet Logistics contributes a robust Part 135 aviation platform, while Blue Tide brings expertise in special mission logistics, disaster response, and time‑critical freight. Together, the companies aim to deliver reliable cargo, passenger, and COMBI services across the region.

BlackSea Technologies has been awarded a five-year, $256 million Navy contract to build and support the Seabased Petroleum Distribution System (SPDS), a critical capability for delivering fuel from sea to shore in contested and infrastructure-limited environments.

EOS has demonstrated its R400 remote weapon system on BlackSea Technologies’ Chaser unmanned surface vessel, marking the first time the R400 has been deployed on a USV in the United States. The integration, unveiled at Sea‑Air‑Space 2026, brings together satellite‑based remote operation, maritime integration, and autonomous deployment in a single working system. The rapid adaptation of the R400 to Chaser highlights its flexibility and shows how quickly new capabilities can be fielded across autonomous platforms. The demo also opens a new path for engagement with U.S. Navy stakeholders as interest in armed and multi‑domain unmanned systems continues to grow.

BlackSea Technologies will unveil two new small Unmanned Surface Vessels (sUSV), Chaser and Comet, at Sea-Air-Space 2026, the Navy League of the United States’ global maritime exposition, held April 19 to 22 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. The event is widely recognized as the premier maritime exposition in the United States, bringing together defense industry leaders and senior military decision makers from around the world. Both new vessels will be displayed at the waterside exhibition pier.

Designed to deliver containerized cargo over long distances in contested environments, NightTrain represents a new approach to sustaining forward forces without reliance on traditional ports or infrastructure.
